Thank you to the J. Patrick Barnes family for this opportunity to recognize the outstanding performance of Nurse Daisy. Daisy listened, really listened, to my health concerns while experiencing my first chemotherapy session. Daisy has a natural compassion towards her job and her patients. When a patient receives sincere attention, the caring smile, all my fear "just goes away". Thank you, Daisy, thank you!

I have been receiving immunotherapy since January. Previously I have received chemotherapy, undergone two surgeries as well as radiation therapy. These treatments have taken a toll on my emotions. Daisy has been my nurse for every treatment. Her cheerful personality along with her excellent nursing skills have made this part of my journey more bearable. She is able to interact on a personal level sharing parts of her life and inquiring about my family. Daisy is informative and explains the purpose of each task she performs so that I understand and feel comfortable.
I often attend the treatments alone and she makes sure that I have anything I need including snacks and beverages. When my wife is able to attend, Daisy is warm and welcoming. She includes her in all discussions around my treatment.
It is apparent that Daisy is a valued member of the team at Dana-Farber. She helps other nurses double-check medications and they are eager to support her.
Daisy has made a positive impact on my life. She makes my treatments more bearable and I actually look forward to seeing her every three weeks.
