My mother was admitted with sepsis to the ICU. She was confused and moving around trying to remove her gown. To know my mother, she was so modest and would have been so upset that she was trying to take her gown off. I spent the night with her in ICU and was moved by the way that Brittney was able to soothe my mom when she needed something done or medication given to her. I saw her bend over to my mom's ear and quietly tell her what she was doing, calling her by her name. My mom responded to her caring and sincere voice. I have to say I was moved to tears and so proud of this young nurse as I am a nurse myself. My mom passed away the day after Christmas and I was heartbroken. She was my best friend as we became adults and was able to pass away at home as she wished.
