Our family had the very good fortune to witness and be embraced by the compassionate and thoughtful care of nurse Mariah Black RN.
Our Sweet X was a patient at Methodist Germantown, Nurse Black was covering there, for someone that day.
We were excited X was to be discharged in a few days to a rehab facility. When I arrived that morning Mariah Black gently and carefully explained to me how X's condition had deteriorated exponentially overnight and was not expected to make it through the day.
As we all gathered there that most difficult day, Nurse Black's care was exemplary. The emotional support she provided was "the wind beneath our wings", constant and knowledgeable. She explained to us the physiological processes that were taking place, every step of the way.
Our family felt that her actions that day just had to be acknowledged. We all agreed that it had been quite some time since we had witnessed the level of healthcare that Nurse Black provided that day.
If you would be so kind, please let her know how grateful we are to have had the pleasure of her guidance that day. We believe God put her there, that day, for a very good reason.
She is now a strong and colorful thread in our fabric of life.
