I grew up in North Shore. Born in North Shore, my shoulder and nose put back into place at North Shore, LOL. Most importantly my 2 children were born in North Shore.
This past November, my 2nd child was born. A complete surprise, not the birth.....but having a boy. I thought we were having another girl.
Healthy baby, healthy mommy.....all one can ask for!
The major cherry on top, was meeting Miss Nurse Alda! This is not to take away attention from all the other nurses and doctors who helped. Because that experience was incredible as well. Truly was. Some great laughs and moments in the delivery room.
But Miss Nurse Alda was the best! We met and spoke. I told her how I was born here in 1981, she told me her story and working at North Shore then. We put 2 and 2 together, she most likely cared for me then. I was so touched and moved. In today's world, emotional and personal connection is often removed. She made me feel like it was not. Alda and I spoke some more. It was great because Alda is great.
I truly hope she is recognized by North Shore and Northwell. She is a nurse that Northwell should have new hires learn from on a professional/medical/patient care level. More importantly she is a person that new hires should look up to!
Attached are some pictures. The one at the end is planned. She was so adorable when I told her to get in for the picture. But the other one is even better. My father-in-law holding my daughter. Most likely cared for by Nurse Alda as well.
