Claudette is the shining example of what an all around great nurse should be. Please consider her for this award because of the professional demeanor she brings to her patients.

I was admitted to Mercy Gilbert and my assigned nurse was Claudette Roche. Being a diabetic, I have been around a lot of nurses and I must say that Claudette is the BEST nurse that has ever cared for me. Claudette was always checking on my welfare asking if I was OK or if there was anything I needed.

When I had any questions or concerns, she would address my fears by explaining what was going on and what was going to happen. She by far had the best communication skills I have ever seen in a nurse. She would communicate procedures in a way I could understand. Communication is so vital between patients and the health providers. If she ever thought she was going to be later than scheduled she would stop and say so instead of just leaving me to wonder what was happening.

The best part of my experience with her was her ability to get her job done and instill humor while doing it. I always heard that laughter is the best medicine. Well, Claudette proved that. She would joke around with me, make me laugh and at the same time make me feel at ease.

I can not put into words how much value she is, not only to Mercy Gilbert, but to her profession as well.
