My son was required to have an extensive MRI after he came up positive on a MIBG scan for bilateral Pheochromocytoma. (He already had two positive 24hr urine screens for high catecholamine’s, and positive blood work from plasma). I only go into these details because for six years I had been trying to get help for my son. I knew he was very ill but I couldn’t get anyone to take me seriously. All Children’s Hospital was the first to believe me and found so many abnormalities, that my son was finally going to get the care that he needed.
This is where Heather came to my rescue.

I was told it was dangerous to put my son under sedation due to his unpredictable blood pressures and heart rates. That test was going to take an hour and a half, which turned into five hours and I honestly thought he had died while under sedation. Once I was able to see that he was ok, I had a meltdown in front of him. Heather, though her shift was already over, asked me to take a walk with her. (I was scaring my son.)

Heather was off from a 12-hour shift and had another shift the next day. She spent at least 45 minutes with me. She helped me to pull myself together and was so nice to me that I truly felt she cared. I can’t tell you how much she helped me that evening. She went way past the call of duty and I will never forget her and how she had no concerns that she was working well past her shift. Please pass my gratitude to her and let her know how much it meant to me....

Thank you Heather!
