Wendy was such a Godsend during our recent family crisis. My husband received 2nd and 3rd degree burns during a work related accident. He was transferred to Bronson for acute burn treatment. My husband and I were scared, shaken by the tragedy, and nervous about providing burn care at home. We were headed into a holiday weekend just as my husband was released from the hospital. We felt terrible that Wendy would have to come in over a holiday weekend to change his dressings and tried to reassure her we could do the wound care at home. She insisted on coming in Saturday AND Monday of the holiday weekend - she said "this is not about me"... over and over her actions portrayed this philosophy. She made it clear my husband was her primary care concern and HIS needs were of the utmost importance.
She was so insightful about my husband’s reluctance to try certain treatments and his concerns regarding recovery. She would say "you seem kinda hesitant, let's talk about it...” She would reassure him and discuss alternatives if she knew he wasn't comfortable with the process.
Wendy is incredibly compassionate and extremely professionally talented. What an asset to your staff and to the people who get lucky enough to have her provide their care!!
