No doubt, a lengthy hospital stay can be wearing on patients and equally tough on their families. Julie Ellisor made a huge impression on one particular family. With their loved one in ICU for two weeks, the family was admittedly overwhelmed. Thankfully, in walked Julie – “a true blessing.”

The patient’s granddaughter praised Julie for involving the family in their loved one’s care every step of the way – medications, what was happening, and his progress. But perhaps even more touching to this family, Julie was “a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen,” her nominator said, “and she treated the patient as if he were her own family.
