JimAnn Cole is an exceptional nurse and is a team player in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Methodist South. JimAnn is willing to share her knowledge and assist with any skills put before her. She exemplifies self control during chaotic situations. Her quick actions keep the staff on point when providing care to those 500 to 1,000gram infants in NICU. She consistently impresses her night shift teammates by volunteering her assistance when needed, checking on other nurse’s patient(s) when they are busy, and offering to take care of the sickest patients in the unit without a moment’s hesitation.
JimAnn is a board member of the Jackson Area Minority Nurses in Jackson, Tennessee. She tutors and volunteers at the area Boys and Girls Club. She reaches out to the community volunteering her time to speak to elementary and high school students about the nursing profession. She is presently on the Shared Governance Council and is very instrumental in the Obstetrical/NICU unit advancement toward providing Family Centered Maternity Care. Her dream is to become a Family Nurse Practitioner and to open a clinic for expecting mothers aged 14-21 to assist them with continuing education, job skills, and family planning.
