The ICU admitted a young woman with a history of substance abuse and unfortunately, she was not going to survive. Christine Eckles cared for the patient with no regard to her past history and treated her and her family with the utmost respect. The parents of the young woman expressed their gratitude for being treated "like humans" to management on multiple occasions.
Christine made sure every moment she cared for this patient that she felt love, compassion, and respect. In addition to making sure every need was met at the hospital, Christine took the time on her off shift to support the family by attending the funeral of this young patient. The lengths she went to to show this family that their daughter mattered and was cared for will stay with those parents forever.
