Marlana Wallace was recognized as LewisGale Hospital Montgomery’s first quarter 2012 DAISY Award recipient. The celebration took place amongst friends and family of Marlana, as well as a plethora of her supportive colleagues.

When asked how she felt about receiving the award Marlana stated, “I was not expecting to ever win this award. I feel that if you have to be here (as a patient) then the least I can do is have a good attitude. I treat my patients as if they are my family”.

Marlana was nominated for her comforting spirit and positive attitude. Her nominee stated, “To say this young woman embodies caring and compassion is an understatement. We were more than blessed to have her care for mom. She was our angel. Thank you for providing our family, especially my mother with the highest level of medical and nursing care. I will forever be grateful”.

MJ Bean, RN, director of Progressive Care Unit, stated, “Marlana is so deserving of this award. She exceeds customer expectations on a daily basis. She is such a joy to be around. Her commitment to her patients and love of her job shows. Marlana has a shining spirit that is truly contagious!”
