It has now been two weeks since my grandmother passed away. I've been looking at this form every day and can now fill it out. Jenn Stahl was my grandmother's nurse for several days before she transferred to Hospice House. I am a hospital social worker in Arizona, so I am quite familiar with "ok" nursing, "good" nursing, and "excellent" nursing. Jenn exhibited excellent nursing when working with my grandmother. She was kind, caring, and compassionate. She frequently checked in on not only my grandmother, but her entire family.
Jenn went out of her way to make sure we were all comfortable, had a food and drink tray delivered each day she was on shift. She was honest when we asked questions about my grandmother's prognosis. She worked hard along with the RN CM to ensure my grandmother got to the hospice where she wanted to be. My grandmother said more than once "Jenn is the most amazing nurse I've ever had!"; even better than the male nurse she had a crush on!
I cannot express how much Jenn helped our family during this difficult time. It was the hardest thing I've experienced in my non-work life and having such an understanding, sensitive, kind nurse made all the difference.
