When Caylee walks into work, she is smiling, she is positive, and she is ready to work, always. Caylee deserves to be recognized not only for how she cares for her patients, but also how she treats and inspires the staff who work around her. When Caylee is working with you, or near you, it lifts your spirit. She helps you to smile and enjoy your work, which in turn allows you to make conversations and connections with your patients and their families and create a compassionate and caring atmosphere.
Recently, Caylee sat bedside with a patient who was being transitioned to hospice care. The patient was extremely ill. Caylee sat with the patient holding his hand until his family could arrive to be with him. Working in an environment that can be so hectic, we must remember what really matters and to remember that every patient is someone's "somebody special". Caylee is a team player, a hard worker, and an inspiration to the staff on our unit. Seeing her smiling face and upbeat attitude makes the hard days a little easier for both patients and coworkers.
