Abigail was recognized by a co-worker for going "above and beyond" on behalf of her patient and her patient's husband. Unable to connect to her husband on the phone, the patient was in a panic and her anxiety began to prohibit proper healing. Abigail's creativity prompted her to call to various stores in the area to find an alternate contact number listed in order to reach the patient's husband. She found a number for his granddaughter who was able to have someone check on her grandfather. In doing so, it was found he had suffered a medical emergency and immediately was transported to the emergency department where he was then admitted for care. Without Abigail's persistence and investigative work, the story may not have ended well. Abigail is another example of what it means to demonstrate exceptional care in and out of the hospital.
