Janet is one of the many experienced nurses on night shift on Med Surg 3 (General Surgery). I had one of our new grad nurses approach me in the morning after a particularly difficult night with staffing and tell me how appreciative she is of Janet.
The new grad said, "Janet always makes time to help us, she never hesitates to put aside how busy she is to make sure she can answer questions and help us out. She does this willingly and never makes us feel as though we are bothering her. She spent a lot of time helping others last night."
Janet is always willing to share her knowledge, picks up extra hours to ensure patient care, and truly embodies all that a nurse is and should be. As her director, I am grateful that she has taken these new nurses under her wing and been willing to share her love for nursing as well as her knowledge.
