There have been many interactions that Marilyn has shared with staff, providers and patients where she has displayed our Sanford values. Marilyn has continued to attend our monthly nursing meetings even though she has plans to retire, thus demonstrating her value of family. She has been seen to help in other departments when things are busy. She has passed lunch trays to hospital patients and has run for supplies when the ER is busy. We recently had a difficult wound vac patient and Marilyn would take the extra time to be an extra set of hands or just support an extra set of eyes to support her team. Another patient she recently helped with needed whirlpool baths a couple times a week, Marilyn did not complain at all, instead, she took that assignment and provided that patient with the compassionate care she deserved even though it was not a glamorous assignment. Marilyn has been exceptionally strong in the surgical area by maintaining excellent sterile fields and keeping our patients safe with her diligent actions. She gives concise, clear instructions to those she works with to give the most optimal care. Marilyn uses great critical thinking skills to figure out equipment and patient needs during stressful situations. Marilyn exemplifies extraordinary clinical skills and compassionate care and it's been a privilege to work with her.
