My husband has severe PTSD and was having a procedure. We told the anesthesiologist, and he said he would be fine. He gave my husband the injection of drugs without warning and it sent him into a panic attack. Colleen was there to comfort him. When he woke up he was still in a panic and was sure someone had stabbed him. Colleen was there to help calm him and he kept referring to her as his "Angel." She also came to his hospital room to check on him and to apologize to him for what happened.
After this experience, he has always been afraid to go under for any procedure. Since then he has had a handful of visits to the Endoscopy unit and was elated to see that his "angel", Colleen, worked there. She steps up each time she sees him even if he isn't on her schedule and makes sure everyone there is aware of his situation. This is a big deal to a man with severe PTSD and makes a huge difference for him. He has tears in his eyes as I am writing this.
Colleen Davis is truly his angel and is most definitely a DAISY Nurse.
