It is truly a privilege to know Alena. As a nurse, it is important to be compassionate and listen to patients. Sometimes it is something as simple as being a shoulder to cry on when a patient has heard devastating news or giving a hand to hold when a patient is in pain. They are that nurse in this department. They truly exemplify DAISY. They are constantly striving to put the patient first. They always willingly work with the patient to give them the best care possible. They are kind, compassionate, giving, and always ready with a smile. Alena made it to the clinic on a snow day and stayed even though the clinic was closed to make phone calls and answer messages. She was the only nurse that made it in that day and stayed! When a patient arrived that day for her NST because she hadn't realized the clinic had closed, Alena happily saw her and gave her reassurance that her baby was okay. I am proud of this amazing nurse and happy that she is part of the Kaiser team!
