Vickie is the glue that holds this place together. Her longevity and experience in Radiology enable her to expertly understand how to make our area function efficiently and effectively. Vickie truly cares about her staff. She has created an environment that fosters care and compassion. She is very supportive of work-life balance. She is also appreciative of staff stepping up to cover each other. This is evidenced by thank you emails and points cards as recognition. She is great in an emergency and jumps in to transport patients or clean rooms if needed. She has some management days but often gives those up to cover staffing holes. Vickie is accessible, available, and responsive to the needs of her staff 24/7. I feel very fortunate to work with Vickie and to be part of the team of Radiology nurses that she has put together.

Vickie Taylor is a nurse leader who supports our staff and provides an environment of trust and expected excellence. This past year, I spoke with Vickie when I was frustrated and was not sure how to best use my gifts/talents in my workday. She was a good listener, and directed me in some ways that I was able to participate, using my skills, and providing the variety that I was missing in my workflow. Vickie does a good job in recognizing and calling nurses to roles where they excel, thereby creating a cohesive work environment.

You begin to notice it on your first day. A connection, a camaraderie, an invitation to be part of a community. Each new hire is welcomed with a potluck breakfast where history is shared, and welcome is extended. Vickie Taylor is a compelling leader. She is fully transparent as she embraces the vision of the Health System. Her directions are clear while she fosters excellence in the care of our patients as well as each other. I know Vickie will address problems ethically and while treating all parties in a respectful manner. Vickie's management style definitely contributes to our retention rate. Her style is to pursue excellent patient care, even as the volume of patients we care for increases every year. She is able to think out of the box and encourage this thinking in others. Even though Vickie is busier than a one-armed paper hanger, she never complains and is constantly adjusting to the ever-changing and increasing demands of Radiology Nursing.
