Deb has been a nurse for a long time and is always happy to use her expertise to teach and lead other staff, no matter how busy she is. I have always noticed that returning patients that remember her always tell me how kind she was and that they truly felt cared for. She is the type of nurse that always does the right thing no matter who is watching.
Yesterday I triaged three patients that made it a point to talk about Deb. One was a special needs adult. She cried and got a big hug from Deb when she saw her. The other two were small children with chronic health problems. The parents sang Deb's praises and asked if she was here. She is so talented with all patients, especially our undesirable population that need it the most- special needs, elderly, and sick children.
It really is an honor to work with her and she makes us proud to be her friend and teammate. Deb's competence, kindness, expertise, and guidance are rare and exemplary.
