Our Campus is proud to announce Lucretia Irrera, RN, ortho/ trauma, as recipient of the DAISY Award, which recognizes one nurse each month for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional patient care. The designation, presented in collaboration with The American Organization of Nurse Executives, is part of the DAISY Foundation’s national program to recognize nurses who serve as role models to colleagues throughout the profession.
“I’m very honored that my coworkers nominated me for this award and spoke so highly of my nursing and teaching skills,” said Irrera. “I think it is very important to serve as a resource for your colleagues and to help orient students, as they are the next generation of nurses.”
Lucretia is the first recipient to be nominated by multiple colleagues for the DAISY Award – a testament to her willingness to help others and her high skill level. One nominator wrote, “Lucretia was my preceptor when I began at the Memorial Hermann- TMC Campus. She is an amazing teacher and, as a co-worker, is always the first to offer help.”
Another colleague offered similar feedback, stating, “Lucretia is an extremely efficient and dedicated nurse. She takes special interest in her patients along with providing compassionate care. She has oriented many new hires and nursing students, and also is a great resource for her fellow staff.”
