Our Campus is proud to announce Fretzel Primero, RN, CIMU, as recipient of the DAISY Award, which recognizes one nurse each month for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional patient care. The designation, presented in collaboration with The American Organization of Nurse Executives, is part of the DAISY Foundation’s national program to recognize nurses who serve as role models to colleagues throughout the profession.

“I’m honored to be nominated for an award that recognizes the hard work and dedication of caregivers,” said Primero. “It also means so much to me that the patient’s son nominated me and trusted me with his father’s care.”

The patient’s son who nominated Primero is a physician for the Medical Clinic of Houston, L.L.P., and sincerely praised the quality care his father received. He wrote, “I would like you to know what an amazing nurse you have in Fretzel. I can say without a doubt that without her, my dad would not have made it through the night. Although the physician could not be present, she cared for my dad with compassion, clear competence and confidence. I cannot offer enough praise for her and I will always be in her debt.”
