Elizabeth was nominated by another nurse for whom she was a preceptor. This nurse tells of the time that Elizabeth willingly and patiently spent helping this new nurse learn great patient care. Elizabeth leads by example and is a resource for her colleagues. In a specific incident mentioned, Elizabeth was home, on her night off, when the unit received a patient in a great deal of pain and in need of a traction with which the unit was out of stock. Unsure how to set the traction up manually, the nurses called Elizabeth. Elizabeth left her home and came to the hospital to show these nurses how to set this traction up and helped ease this patient’s pain.
