The other day I had to go work on a different unit than my own and I had a very tough assignment. It was almost as if I had been tossed out of a boat into a raging sea and at any minute my head was going to go underwater. I didn't go under though because I was pulled back into the boat by a wonderful nurse name Connie! Let me tell you about her.
Connie is a nurse in the Resource Pool. Being part of the Resource Pool, she gets assigned to various units to cover any staffing needs that there may be. So, I have had the pleasure of working with Connie as a team member on several occasions. Connie is always happy and energetic to the point where it is almost infectious! When it comes to her Veterans, she is always eager to come to their aid. They are "her" Veterans! It does not matter if they are assigned to her or not, if she answers a call bell, she is going to do everything in her power to assist that Veteran herself! This same type of work ethic also comes into play when assisting her fellow team members. She always makes sure the unit she is assigned to runs as smoothly as possible and never hesitates to jump in and help wherever and whenever she can. Just the sound of her happy voice is enough to inspire you when work seems overwhelming and it is always wonderful to hear!
Connie really kept my spirits up this shift in particular and "carried" me through a really tough work assignment. So, I wanted to express my thanks and appreciation to her in a more tangible way which is why I am writing this testimonial about her. It is in her nature to always help others in a time of need and to make sure all of "her" Veterans are cared for with respect and excellence!
Connie was a medic in the Air Force and served during Desert Storm/Shield.
