Sarah is a bright light on JMP. Sarah is always smiling and always ready to help any patient, staff member or family who might need it. Not only is she consistently performing at the next level of nursing care for her workload, but she is also always helping out the other nurses as well. She is not always there but when she comes her presence is very known. I can say that I feel 100% confident having her in any situation any time she walks on the unit. She is one of the best nurses, one of the most competent, one of the friendliest and one of the most motivated that we have.
I would like to say that Sarah's work ethic and positive attitude make her a DAISY Nurse. However, in order for everyone reading this to understand just how truly wonderful a nurse Sarah is, I will give specific examples of her being the spectacular, capable nurse she is. Recently we had two nurses for a day shift due to a call off when the unit requires 3 RNs to run. Sarah was supposed to come in at 11 am but when I called her she dropped what she was doing, rushed to get ready and came to work in time to pass her morning meds. This is just the type of dedication and hard work Sarah is constantly giving to the unit.
There have been many times when Sarah stays a little late to help clean a patient or makes sure the unit is safe before leaving for the day. A few months ago, Sarah responded to a body button where a staff was being hit by a patient. She was not the first person to respond but she made the most difference. She was quick to safely remove the patient from the situation and getting the staff out of harm's way. Honestly, when I come to work and see that I am working with Sarah it makes my day better, she is always smiling, working amazing with the patients and just making the unit run better. I do not think I have met someone more deserving of the acknowledgment that comes with this award.
