On Tuesday, Ethan basically saved my husband's life. While my husband was having a seizure in the hospital and refusing help, Ethan, not being emotionally involved, was able to assess the situation with a clear head. He recommended that because of my husband's coloring that they try giving him a shot of TPA, because they thought he was having a pulmonary embolism and his numbers for his blood pressure had dropped down to the mid 20's. His color started to return, and numbers started to rise so they gave him a booster shot of the TPA. All this took place while my son was praying over his father and the doctors and nurses were on the speaker phone with doctors in Miami.
Ethan was cool and calm under these extreme circumstances which was for sure the beginning of bringing my husband back to life. They took him immediately to x-ray and discovered he had 2 giant clots on both sides of his lungs, and were also blocking both ventricles of the heart and the heart was not working right. They took him to radiology and sucked some of the clots out and broke as much as they could up. My husband finally agreed to have help and got the breathing tube and the main line before they transferred him to PWH. Thanks to Ethan's quick thinking my husband is alive today.
