The other night I had a patient who needed IV Lopressor five mg every fifteen minutes times three; that order was going to keep me in the room for at least an hour. I let my coworkers know and went in to administer my medication.
Nadine took it upon herself to medicate my other patients and see if they needed anything. She didn’t stop there! A short while later I received an admission and without hesitation she was in there doing the admission paperwork while I was doing the assessment and medications.
Not only were her patients well cared for, but she was able to step in and help me with mine. She never asked or expected anything in return. She made sure everyone was cared for and nobody felt put on hold. She is a true team player. We are lucky to have such a caring, compassionate, kind, selfless RN.
