Toya discharged a patient. This patient discovered that he had a flat tire. Toya tried to contact Security for assistance. She was told that they were unable to help the patient fix his flat, due to liability. This patient did not have any family or friends to call for assistance. He was on continuous oxygen. The patient had a portable oxygen tank in use. Toya found someone that could give her a ride to the gas station. She bought a fix-a-flat kit with her own money, since the patient did not have any money. She helped him to fix his flat tire, so that he could return home. This patient was very appreciative of Toya’s efforts. He returned to the hospital a few days later to thank her. Toya is very compassionate. She went above and beyond for a patient in need.
