Michelle’s clinical skill and especially her compassionate care exemplify the kind of nurse that our patients, their families, and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model.
The evidence of Michelle’s compassionate care is shown below in excerpts from a patient letter.
Michelle was the best thing that could have happened to me on one of the worst days of my life. From the moment I learned in the ER that I was miscarrying there was chaos going on in my head. As I was moved to Labor and Delivery she was calm, soft-spoken, compassionate, and caring; an immediate and soothing balm for my heavy heart and head.
She placed me in a room far away from the other delivering mothers and their babies. She took care to explain the problems that were going to come with delivering my baby so prematurely. She gave us bits of information over periods of time, so that we might digest all that was going to happen. She cared for me and my husband with a touch that is borne out of great dedication and skill for her job. She gave me all that she could to make me comfortable. She offered her ear, so that I may vent, and start to work through the pain that was tearing my heart. Her care is truly one of the reasons that I feel I am already a great deal into the healing process after losing my baby only a week ago.
Michelle is an amazing nurse… I will remember her and her healing spirit for a long time to come…
