My dad spent 4 ½ weeks in the CICU with several health problems. During his lengthy stay, all of his nurses provided exceptional care for my dad. There were times that my dad had more than 10 IVs and also on a dialysis machine.
I am nominating Michael Reed because he was one of several nurses that my sister, wife, and I feel gave our dad the best professional care and also had a real concern for his health and recovery. Michael was also very flexible with our family visits. He always worked around us, never pushing his position or making us feel less important. Michael cared for my dad several times over the 4 ½ week period. We really appreciate the care he provided him. Michael wasn’t one to talk a lot but he spoke by the way he worked and provided care for my dad. We could tell, he loved nursing and he was very good at it.
Dad’s IVs and dialysis machine always created a lot of alarms. These machines kept all of the nurses very busy. Michael was always there to address them very quickly. Unfortunately dad did not recover but our family is confident he received the very best care possible during these weeks. Michael was a big part of making us feel this way.
