The Daisy Committee at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital awarded the December 2010 Daisy Award to Pam Falotico, MSN, RN. Pam is a valuable and respected member of the Same Surgery staff. Pam holds the CAPA certification (Certified Peri Anesthesia Nurse). She is an excellent teacher both to her co-workers, nursing students, and patients..
She has developed many Quality projects including Lovenox and Bladder Scanning Peer Competency. These are a few of the best practice projects she has led out to improve patient care at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital (AHH). Also, Pam is on the Peer Review team. This team’s work has been effective in reviewing trends in nursing care as well as individual nurse practices when patient outcomes are compromised. Pam and this team’s ability to review complex clinical situations and provide recommendations is key to driving best practice at AHH. Pam is very inquisitive and this quality adds to her strength in gathering information from multiple avenues upon which to base positive practice changes. She has been asked to be part of a committee that is analyzing the surgical processes. As a result, Pam has developed a strong and positive working relationship, interdepartmentally. This has been beneficial to Same Day surgery. It has facilitated trouble-shooting issues and examining and improving processes amongst other departments.
Congratulations Pam!
