“I know my mother was on the decline and must have required a lot of attention, being in continuous pain and uncontrollable of her excretions. When I was at the bedside, I would have my children (adults) call to check on my mother during the nights. One of the nights I came to visit, with suspicion of the movies that my mother would not be taken care of. My mother's nurse was Donald; when he came in I was uneasy because of his youth. But after getting information on his other people, he told me the plan for the night, that he would be in the room for the scheduled medicine, to turn every two hours, and would check on her throughout the night. Donald would even check on me, if I needed or wanted anything throughout the night with the foldout bed and warm blankets, his work couldn't be overlooked. The other night staff were great as well. Looking out the room, they would come check on me. Thank you 6 South.”
“When I saw Donald I felt reassured because he was a Chinese nurse. He assisted my wife and I in assisting warming my food from home. What was most important was that Donald helped me through my coughing episode with medicines and having a critical care nurse check on me as well. Donald would check on me throughout the night and would apologize for waking me in the mid morning. I know he had to wake me but that he was sympathetic in doing so. I also appreciate Donald for allowing me maximum opportunity to get quality sleep. Lastly, I appreciated Donald that I never felt that he was in a rush to leave; he would stay and let me finish my conversation. Thank you, Donald.”
“When I arrived through the ED, I knew my stay was going to be tough through previous visits with all the tests, lab drawing and constant waking throughout the night. Donald was my nurse the last days of my visit. I told him my concern of waiting to get some sleep and I know I was on some chest machine that they had to wake me in the morning for blood pressure tests and such. And I knew it was difficult to sleep because Donald had reminded me that sleeping in unfamiliar places would be a little difficult. I liked how he gave me examples. Donald told me the plan for the night and that if I woke up during the night to get him. So I must have slept until 3:30-3:45 went to the bathroom, called Donald and he did his work with medicine and blood pressure and let me go back to sleep. I appreciated it so much I didn't get that good a sleep except those few days. Just a kind thanks to Donald and the other nurses.”
