Diane Goodwin, BSN is a tenure committed nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, having worked in various capacities for 26 years. As quoted by Dalai Lama, “if you want others to be happy, practice compassion; if you want to be happy, practice compassion.” Compassion is characterized through actions to alleviate the suffering of others. As with this nomination, Diane has commonly received accolades for her caring compassion of patient and family.
Diane has a great sense of self that enables her to effectively engage with others. Diane conveys empathy and compassion in all interactions, not just when the other party is suffering. Even when holding different opinions and positions than that of colleagues and team members, she is respectful and trustworthy in every encounter. This fosters team work and hugely contributes to the positive experience of patient and families.
