I am writing to nominate Meegan Carlson, RN for the DAISY Award. Meegan took care of the wife of one of our physician leaders. The patient was transferred from our Medical Unit to our Progressive Care only three hours after her admission. Meegan cared for her patient for two days following a heart cath. She was a tremendous advocate for her patient who had a steady stream of visitors because of her husband’s position on the community. The patient months later was singing Meegan’s praises for helping her through this stressful time and making a difference in her recovery.
