From a patient
I had a Noon appointment made by my doctor’s office for an iron drip (on Short Stay). No one told me it would last 6 hours until I was in the process. Consequently, by the time I was through the procedure, it was 10:30pm. I was in the parking structure, but Angelo would not let me go home alone. He insisted on driving me! This was very much beyond his duties. I tried to pay for his gas but he absolutely would not accept it. I would like him to be recognized for his extraordinary compassion.
From the patient’s family
This is just a quick note of thanks and appreciation due to the outstanding efforts of one of your employees. My elderly (87yrs) relative was undergoing an IV of Iron that kept her at the hospital until after 10:30pm. Being that it was obviously dark out, and that she was tired from a long day of procedures and tests (almost 11 hours worth), my sister and I were quite concerned that she’d be able to drive herself home safely (she was also without her cell phone). Angelo Grospe apparently took it upon himself to escort her all the way to her home that night in his personal car (she lives about 13 miles away on the other side of Rancho PV), just to ensure she would make it there safely. Being that I’m in San Diego and my sister is in Boston, you can’t imagine how wonderful it was to hear of his generous deed! All I can say about it is a big THANK YOU to him, and I hope you as his supervisors are fully aware of what a kind and fine person, not to mention employee, he must be. Thank you again for caring and going way above and beyond the expected to put a family at ease!
