From a co-worker: I recommend Vibien for the DAISY Award here at TMMC. She has sought out additional certification in Rehabilitation Nursing. She was our Unit Champion for Magnet and kept us all fired up and on target for this organization-wide accomplishment. She is always a team player as she goes about her daily work. She organizes her day as best she can even when faced with very significant and challenging workloads.
She is always pleasant to her patients and co-workers. She smiles frequently and shares her humor as well as her knowledge with our patients and staff. She has had to deal with a number of rapid response events in the unit and she works very quickly at getting right on the needs of the patient and ensuring that all is being done that needs to be at that very necessary moment. The patient is always at the forefront of her mind. If she has been off for a few days, she reviews her charts to ensure orders are completed and things are up to the appropriate level they should be for the benefit of the patient. If they are not, she notifies the Dr. of the needs of her patients.
Vibien greets each patient with a good morning start and tells them she will be their nurse for the day. When the need for applicants for the Pain Resource Nurse Role contributors to our unit was discussed, she obtained the available information and application form right away immediately recognizing the significance of this role for our patients and for herself toward her own on-going leadership development and progression in the nursing field. She is a very progressive and caring nurse who is an effective and instrumental leader in her role in the TCU at TMMC.
We are proud to have Vibien Damian on the TCU team and nominate her for the prestigious DAISY Award.
