I nominate Shanna Gilming for the DAISY Award. She is deserving of this award because of her reverence and compassion. The following is a story that demonstrates these values.
Shanna came up with the idea to do something for the ER and ICU departments due to the recent tragedies they had assisted with over the last few weeks. She sent out a message to the Cancer Center staff requesting donations &/or goodies that she could deliver to the ER & ICU from us so they could have some sort of recognition/celebration. She also had cards for us to sign so we could thank them for the work that they do in their departments and how their work makes a difference in our lives and in our community. I love the fact that Shanna took time to remember these departments that recently experienced tragedy, grief and sadness. And I admire the fact that she went beyond remembering this, but actually took action to make a difference. It’s an honor to work with her. Thanks Shanna!
