B is a baby in our SCN that was born full term to a drug addicted mother. He is now 10 weeks old and is still with us. He has not been able to be weaned off of Morphine/methadone. His mother is not involved with his care and is rarely here. She is planning on placing him for adoption. He is a 2 ½ month old baby who has had no one to bond with or play with, except for staff. Our staff are the ones who hold him, rock him, play with him, feed him and even take him for walks outside (with a Physicians order). Our Lactation Nurse, Lisa Mather, has taken it upon herself and on her own time to make a scrapbook for him and his future family. She has been scrapbooking his life in our SCN, bath time, feeding time, playtime, sleep time and his walks. He will be adopted one day and will have that family who will do all this with him. This scrapbook will show him one day that his family at CMC-U loved and cared for him while he was with us. What Lisa is doing is going above her duties as a Lactation Nurse. Every baby deserves to have a baby book and now B will have one, thanks to Lisa.
