I recently picked up a shift on a unit and had the most heart warming and amazing experience with a patient. I did not have the patient. She was confused and in a lot of pain and was very self conscious about her hair falling out and having it fixed and washed. The charge nurse, Andreas Scott took the time to cut and style the patient’s hair while she assisted the nurse and PCA with a complete bath. She was a hair stylist in her former profession. The patient was very comforted by this gesture and generosity.

Not only did she look better, she felt better, and it made her feel special to have someone care about more than just her health, but her appearance and piece of mind. This is a true sign of a “DAISY” nurse. Thinking outside of the box and doing what it takes to give each patient a uniquely positive and memorable experience here at The Christ Hospital is why we remain number one in nursing care. We always remember how someone made us feel and it is the little gestures that can change a stressful hospitalization into a memorable and heart warming experience.

Andrea routinely goes above and beyond and does not miss a moment to help with difficult patients and makes sure co-workers always know they can call on her anytime for assistance and questions. She is positive, professional, helpful, and always smiling.
