Note: 1LT Xavier Green is the second from right to left on the photo.
1LT Xavier Green is one of my most experienced military nurses on the floor currently. Xavier has demonstrated outstanding clinical leadership as a shift leader and as a clinical instructor/preceptor for newly assigned nurses and CNTP nurses. Above this, he displays outstanding bedside clinical skills. Over the last year, Xavier has received several praises (from patients and staff) related to the care he has delivered. He is highly regarded amongst his peers. Because of all these attributes he has been selected to attend the ICU/ER Critical Care Course in January 2012.
1LT Green has had the opportunity recently to care for a fellow nurse assigned to his care team on 3W. The patient assigned under his care was very grateful for all the care Xavier did for him and identified him above all other nurses providing care as –“an outstanding nurse”. His “can do” attitude/spirit is evident daily in his practice. Xavier’s continued drive for excellence has compelled his involvement in the Patient Care Touch “roll out” as a member of the Unit Practice Council.
1LT Xavier Green truly personifies the intent of the DAISY Award.
