Diane Rauschenbach has a spiritual and professional approach to her job that reflects her values as an RN. She has earned the respect and admiration of many of her peers and colleagues as she shows high regard for the feelings and opinions of others. She demonstrates loving and caring gestures that make us feel appreciated such as baking special cakes for each of us on our birthday.
Diane is a natural leader and demonstrates this in her role as our charge nurse. Even when we are very busy, the unit runs smoothly and efficiently when she is working. She is a role model, advocate and resource not only for us but for our patients as well. She has made it a priority on the unit that equipment and call lights are always functioning. Her behaviors and actions in a crisis situation help to keep us calm and focused on the task at hand.
Diane demonstrates her commitment to professional development by her involvement on the committees she serves: Co-Chairperson of Medication Safety; MCH Patient-Family Advisory Council; MCH Unit Education Council. Her talents helped in the creation of two MCH videos for our Couplet-Care patients (Discharge and Safety videos) as well as the development of a Logicare medication discharge resource sheet for the Couplet Care staff.
In addition to working full time, Diane occasionally finds time to play guitar and sing for our Couplet-Care patients as well as at a hospice center.
We feel it is an honor to have Diane on our unit.
