Debra, who works on Rogers 8, was nominated by a patient who said:
I nominate Debra Ballew for the Daisy Award for her outstanding professionalism. But mostly for her warmth and her smile which puts you at ease right away. Debra gets high marks from me because she cares not only for physical side as a patient, but the emotional side as well. She has a way of lifting your spirits before she says a word. Specifically, I decided to consent to a test that I had previously refused. It was late evening; however Debra showed no sign of impatience or disappointment. She smiled and said, “No Problem” I will page your doctor. Within minutes she had the ball rolling. She held my hand and coached me through the procedure, putting me at ease. With her by my side the lumbar puncture was effortless. There is much more to health than emphasis on the disease or symptom, and Debra knows how to touch the center of healing, which is your spirit. For me, she is an expression of God’s love.
