Elaine is an incredible nurse who consistently demonstrates professionalism and excellence. As Elaine conducts her preoperative interview, she includes family members ensuring she addresses completely all their questions and concerns. She gives them her undivided attention making them feel as if she has all the time in the world. She forwards any special concerns or issues to the appropriate person for follow up. When appropriate, she contacts the family waiting room with updates easing the family’s anxiety. As anesthesia begins the induction, she is right at the head of the bed, assisting anesthesia and offering words of comfort as the patient drifts off to sleep.

Elaine’s calm demeanor and organizational skills make her an outstanding preceptor and mentor. Her exceptional critical thinking skills contribute to prioritizing procedures and maintaining proper staffing needs to complete the day’s schedule.
