Amy Hathaway is a Special Care Nursery Nurse who has been at IU Health West since before our opening in 2004. She is a trusted member of our SCN staff who freely shares her expertise with her colleagues and always lends a hand and an air of calmness whenever either is needed. She enjoys taking care of our smallest patients and their families, during what are certainly stressful and challenging times, sometimes joyous and sometimes quite sad.

A physician colleague, Dr. Megan Gruesser, nominated Amy with the following words,

“Amy was an excellent team member in the NICU team responsible for resuscitating and admitting a 31 week pre-term baby following his delivery. Amy remained calm and collected while working quickly and efficiently to give all the care that this preemie required. This baby’s outcome would not have been as good had it not been for the outstanding patient care that Amy provided. I really appreciate all her hard work and dedication.”
