From the Patient/Family:
My husband was in the ED with chest pain and admitted to CTU for observation. It was really late and Vincent was our nurse. He came into the room and introduced himself to not only the patient (my husband), but to me as well. I wanted to spend the night in the room, but all the cots were being used, so I was sleeping in the chair, when Vincent came in with a bed he found on the unit.
He went above and beyond to make sure not only the patient was comfortable, but the family also. We were discharged the following day and we got to see Vincent again on his next shift. He explained all discharge orders and printed up some information for us to take home, which we forgot in the room. When Vincent got off work, he drove to our house to drop it off! My husband was so relieved. He couldn’t believe that Vincent cared enough to bring it to him. Vincent is someone who really cares for his patients and their families, and it shows in everything he says and does. We will never forget him.
From Jasmine Veron, Nurse Manager CTU:
Vincent started working at GAMC in June of 2007 as part of our night shift team. He quickly became a valuable member of CTU as a resource to many of his peers. Soon after he became a relief charge nurse and showed some great leadership skills, though Vincent's real talent is shown in his hands-on nursing skills. Aside from being an extremely competent nurse, Vincent has great bedside manner. From the moment the patient arrives to CTU, he makes it his priority to put the patient and family at ease by earning their trust with his compassionate care. There is no doubt that Vincent is mission-driven in his delivery of care. CTU is so proud of you and lucky to have you!
