Kimberly is an incredible nurse. She provides outstanding care to each and every one of her patients. She always pays attention to all the details for the patient. For example; she ensures they get their bath just the way they like it with the right soap and toys. In addition to providing outstanding nursing care every day, she sees barriers and strives to overcome them. For example; Kimberly has taken on the project of ensuring "pain free pokes" for kids here at HCMC no matter where the child is located. She has already changed the practice of staff in Radiology, Burn and Lab. She is changing the way we care for our kids for the better!

Kimberly always gives 100% of herself to her patients and families. She is very vigilant about completing all cares; wound care, bath, ambulating, breathing cares, etc. She is always teaching with her families and patients. Kimberly is also involved in hospital groups, like the Skin Team. Recently, she created an initiative for pain free pokes for children throughout the hospital. She is an avid advocate for pain free procedures. She is also a great resource for all staff.

Kimberly takes her time with every encounter and tries to really embody building connections with her patients and families. Kimberly listens to the needs of the patients and works on preventing escalating needs. Kimberly also sees the little details that sometimes get missed. When we are working so hard to just get through the day, it is those details that can often make a child's stay more comfortable.
