Heather Molling is always willing to go above and beyond for her patients to ensure they are receiving what they need, when they need it. I have witnessed Heather on several occasions advocate for her patients and not take no for an answer.

Recently Heather was working with a patient who had a lower extremity amputation. This patient had a long road to recovery and was finally at the point of being ready for prosthesis. The prosthetic was ordered and the necessary paperwork was completed but the insurance company came back and denied the request telling Heather that the patient would need to wait another three months prior to submitting the request again. Heather did not take no for an answer. She engaged in many phone calls and email conversations with the insurance company escalating the issue to the most senior leadership. She worked with the surgeon to enhance documentation to support the request. Heather did all of this behind the scenes without being asked by the patient because she knew it was best for the patient and his family to continue his road to recovery. The patient was approved to receive the prosthesis! Heather continued to work with this insurance company to help understand what their exact qualifications and criteria are to ensure this doesn't happen to another patient.

Heather lives by the Mayo Clinic primary value; the needs of the patient come first, each and every day she comes to work. I am grateful to have Heather on our team and know she will do whatever it takes to help our patients and put their needs first.
