Rachel Padilla is a compassionate, dedicated nurse who always takes the time to listen to her patients. She shows genuine concern for her patients and their families treating them like she would treat a loved family member. Rachel identifies her patients and families unique individual cultural and spiritual needs and meets them with kindness. Rachel's peers look to her for guidance and support and as an example of empathetic care. Rachel is the nurse you would choose to have take care of you or your family member if you could, knowing that you would receive the very best care anyone could get.

Rachel took care of a donor patient, a young wife and mother, as her husband visited at night Rachel saw how hard it was for him to grieve so, moving all the tubes and drips, she helped him climb up on his wife's bed and hold her one last time to say goodbye.

This is just one example of Rachel's compassion, she intuitively knows when people are hurting and moves mountains to make them feel better. We are blessed to have such a wonderful nurse working on the unit.
