I am nominating Cheryl Yeske, RN for the high level of professionalism she demonstrated when my step-mom was in the ICU. We are a BIG family with lots of questions. Each question about new IV items, patient status, and planning ahead for post-discharge was met with clear and compassionate answers. She took the time to make sure we understood everything and never made us feel our presence or questions were a problem. Additionally, she was training a student nurse. I observed how she showed the same thoroughness in her instructions to him. His confidence in doing tasks, some of which he was performing for the first time, were a direct result of her training. Cheryl Yeske is an example to all nurses of the best in patient care and concern. She is friendly without being too familiar, highly skilled, and was most appreciated by our family in a time of crisis.
