Cathy received this patient following a very common surgical procedure. During the assessment phase of the admission to PACU she found an abnormality that she reported until she was able to get the attention she felt the patient needed. As a result of the finding, the patient went on to have another procedure that saved her leg and possibly her life.

The patient was randomly interviewed as part of the surveys of patients receiving care at PMC. She recounted that when Cathy found the problem, she used a small ultrasound device and started calling people. "The next thing I knew, I was in surgery". My husband and I are very pleased with the care at Piedmont Medical Center and thankful.

Cathy is an excellent nurse who is often a preceptor for our new nurses in PACU. Her thoroughness, expertise, and patience make her an excellent role model for the new staff. She is a true asset to our team.
